Content Editor

Displayed Content
In most templates, the Title field must be filled in for a section to appear in the preview and final newsletter. If you do not want a title to appear in a particular section, simply put a single space in the Title field.

Automatic “Paste from Word” Cleanup
Most email marketing programs require you to click into a special window to Paste content from Microsoft Office software. Otherwise your email content can mysteriously disappear after sending, particularly for subscribers using Microsoft Outlook.

MyNewsletterBuilder is a better email marketing solution, automatically cleaning up HTML created when you paste from Microsoft Office programs. All you have to do is Paste.

My Library Link
This link opens a new browser window with instructions for creating reusable formatted content which can include html-formatted content with or without multimedia content. To learn more, just click the My Library link under the Preview - Save - Next buttons in the floating palette. To create new Library content, follow the directions in the new window.

JukeBoxAlive Link
If the template includes multimedia integration, this link opens a new browser window with a MyNewsletterBuilder upload tool hosted by JukeBoxAlive.

If your MyNewsletterBuilder and JukeBoxAlive accounts share the same username, you will be able to open this window and upload media without having to enter a username or password for JukeBoxAlive. Just click the JukeBoxAlive link under the Preview - Save - Next buttons in the floating palette and follow the directions in the window.

JukeBoxAlive groups audio and video content based on Albums. If your audio or video content is not related to an album, you can still Add Album using any name you choose to help you organize your multimedia content.

Please contact Live Support if you need help with this feature.

JukeBoxAlive Accounts
If you do not have a JukeBoxAlive account matching your MyNewsletterBuilder username, you will be able to start a new JukeBoxAlive account using a shortened sign-up form or contact Live Support to switch the username on an existing JukeBoxAlive account. From this window, you may also Switch Accounts, log in to another existing JukeBoxAlive account, or upgrade your JukeBoxAlive account. If you start a new JukeBoxAlive account through this window, you may need to validate your email address for JukeBoxAlive before continuing by clicking a link in an email sent to your email address.

Please contact Live Support if you need help merging, migrating or upgrading accounts.

Multiple JukeBoxAlive Accounts
Some templates – including the Record Store, Events, and Promoter templates – allow you to import multimedia content and events information from multiple JukeBoxAlive accounts – by typing or selecting JBA Usernames for each article or event section.

To update the drop-down menus with available multimedia and events, click Save or Update after you add or change the JBA Username field for an article or event section.

Please contact Live Support if you want to group multiple JukeBoxAlive accounts under one Promoter Account (or if you want to group multiple MyNewsletterBuilder accounts under one Enterprise Account).

How do Tokens work?
Subscriber tokens are individually replaced with available data for each subscriber when your email is sent. If no data is available, the token is simply removed from the email. Sender and Custom Contact tokens preview and send with your settings as of the moment you select a template to create a newsletter or Instant Import a newsletter from another account. You can update the Sender and Custom Contact data in your newsletters to match the current Account Settings and Custom Contact data using Refresh Template Data option under Name This Newsletter. Subscriber ID and Newsletter ID are automatically set to a unique number. These ID fields are used in header and footer links.

Link Color / Link Colour
The default behavior of the Content Editor’s Rich Text Editor is to place link tags, which have their own default colors, within font color tags when you apply the Text Color to a selection including the entire link. This causes the default link colors (generally blue or purple) to take priority over the colors you have selected.

The solution using Edit HTML Source is simple and easy. Just move the font color tags (<font> and </font> tags or <span> and </span> tags) inside of the link tags (<a> and </a> tags).

The solution without editing any code is simple and easy as well. Just apply the color to the middle of the link text instead of the entire link. Then edit the link text to remove the characters that are the wrong color.

Step-by-Step How to Change the Color of a Link / Colour of a Link

  1. Click into any article text area to load the Rich Text Editor.
  2. Type two characters (or type your link text and add a character before your text).
  3. Select all characters, click the Insert/Edit Link icon, enter the link information, and click Insert to apply turn the selected characters into a link.
  4. Select the second character (or select all characters except the first character), click the Select Text Color icon triangle to select you preferred link color, and click to set the color of the selection inside your link. (Click elsewhere to deselect your link so you can see your new link colors.)
  5. Select the second character and type the text for your link (or select all characters except the first).
  6. Select and delete the extra default color character (first character) at the beginning of your link text.

Here is an image showing this Step-by-Step process:

This applies to links you create within articles. Most templates also include the option to set the color of a link placed at the end of each article. Look for text fields labeled Link and Link Color at the end of each article.
